With the new season ready to start, why not invest in some refresher training aboard your own boat with your regular crew on board and maximise your enjoyment of your motor cruiser. The costs for own boat training are from £175.00 per day and includes tuition for 2 people. Training is also available by the hour as well as by the day.

Terms & Conditions for own boat training

  • Second Wind Motor Cruising Ltd provides tuition aboard the client’s own boat on the understanding that the client remains fully responsible for the safety and operation of the boat at all times. The instructor is there purely in an advisory capacity and will not be held liable for any damage or injury resulting from the operation of the vessel.
  • The client must ensure that the boat is seaworthy and has suitable safety equipment for the planned exercises.
  • If on arrival at the vessel the instructor considers the vessel unsafe to operate he or she is at liberty to refuse to undertake the training. In this case the client remains liable to pay the cost of a minimum of one day's instruction plus travelling expenses where relevant.
  • The client must ensure that a policy of insurance for the boat is in force covering legal liability for damage or injury to third parties. The sum insured must be at least £1,000,000.
  • The client undertakes to provide the instructor with meals (and accommodation if appropriate) aboard the vessel to suit the course or tuition timing.
  • Own boat training is costed from £175.00 per day and includes training for 2 people. Extra persons up to a maximum of 2 may join the training for an extra charge of £50 pp per day
  • Travelling expenses are charged per mile from Troon Yacht Haven.
